Remote diagnosis via video streaming
With the portable s-live system of eks Engel, that has been developed for remote diagnosis of machinery and facilities, the staff on site may be assisted by external professionals via real-time video streaming. In order to ensure stable transmission of high-resolution images, data is split and sent via the Internet, Wireless LAN, UMTS and LTE to a server and there reassembled. Afterwards data can be distributed to any number of PCs, tablets or smart phones. Due to a web based support platform that is accessible via Internet, no additional software has to be installed on this devices. The audio communication is transmitted via SIP client (Session Initiation Protocol). Therefore conference calls via normal landlines are possible parallel to the video streaming. Encryption methods such as SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) and VPN (Virtual Private Network) combined with the splitting of the video stream ensure high data security.
