• 1931

  The company „Albert Engel“ was founded as a company specialised in motor and amature winding.

• 1962

  Specialising in electric installation, home automation and communication systems. The brand “eks” was established.

• 1986

  Production and sales of the first fiber optic systems.

• 1994

  Ralph Engel becomes CEO in the third generation.

• 2006

  In the course of its 75th anniversary eks is celebrating the inauguration of the new offices. Another floor has been added to the production building on Schützenstrasse.

• 2010

  After being awarded as a finalist in 2009, eks Engel wins the Großen Preis des Mittelstandes of the Oskar-Patzelt-Stiftung and is able to prevail against more than 3500 German businesses.

• 2011

  80th anniversary of the company and inauguration of its new production hall which is 800 m2 big.

• 2014

  Ralph Engel wins the South Westphalian Entrepreneur Award 2014 in the category "Entrepreneur of the Year"

• 2015

  Market launch of the modular software platform e-mode.

• 2018

  Market launch of the PE-LIGHT system: Our ultra-compact, modular and multifunctional smart city system for installation in poles
